It is not always easy to understand why you do what you do. I paint because I enjoy it, it relaxes me and makes me happy when I like the result, but it is also frustrating at times. The whole process is more about feeling than about thinking. I believe that all the worrisome events going on in the world in the last few years have caused this need in me to start creating a lighter, brighter, almost fairytale-like version of what I see around me.

There is much to see in the world whether it be a new country, a new city, or a new take on something you pass in your everyday journeys. As a noncar owner and avid traveler, I see a lot of the world on foot. It forces you to slow down and take a longer look at what’s around you. You never know where you will stumble upon a seagull sunset as the sun dips into the ocean, a sidewalk bar in Dubrovnik, or an illusory apocalypse in Times Square. My unquenchable curiosity to explore keeps me walking, camera in hand.
